Hi! I'm Melissa. I'm a middle school ELA teacher and founder of Straight Outta Class! I started my Teacher Success Programs because I want to make sure YOU have the best start to your teaching career. Let's face it - most teacher training programs are missing the mark in preparing new teachers for the REAL classroom. That's where I can help.
I've got 30 years of classroom teaching experience and National Board Certification for Professional Teachers. Middle School is my thing, but I am certified to teach 4-8 in all subjects with ESL and GT credentials and grades 6-12 in English Language Arts. I've mentored new teachers, guided student teachers in my classroom, and worked as an instructional coach.
I want to help you step into your classroom and start a successful teaching journey just like I did. And I'm here to guide you each step of the way.
PREPPING FOR SUCCESS is a free Facebook group for new and beginning teachers of all levels and grades. Maybe you are just starting your career as a teacher or you changed grade levels or subjects. I'm here to offer support, help, practical tips, strategies, and actionable steps so you can navigate your first years smoothly. Prepping for Success welcomes all teachers who are starting a new teaching journey!
SIX WEEKS TO SUCCESS series courses will prepare you to walk into your classroom like a pro on the first day of school! When you finish a series course, you'll have everything you need to start teaching and managing your classroom successfully. You'll learn where to get started and how to prioritize the things you should do before the school year begins.
